Possible record mule deer from northwest Colorado

Saw this article in the local paper today. A mule deer was taken in Colorado's Northwest corner with a score of 203.

Wow what a rare buck. The NW is not known for having great genectics, as very few book mulies have come from that area. I personally am so glad that our wildlife commission finally went to a 100% draw back in 1999 as we are seeing bigger bucks every year and all over the state to boot. It will be interesting to see if Doug Burris' 225" World Record Typical, that was killed outside of Cortez in South Western Colorado in 1972 gets beat in the next few years. This now makes quite a few 200"+ that was killed in Colorado this year. I guess Garth Carter from Huntin Fool was right when he said, " I believe Colorado will produce more book bucks in the next few years than all of the other western states combined".

Thanks Cowgal for posting this. Thumbs up
