Banned?? NEVER!!!

It's our birth right as Americans, and an ultimate freedom. Freedom from fear and tyranny, that every lawful citizen have the means to personal protection and security......The right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed!!!

Guns don't cause crime or violence anymore than automobiles, hand tools, personal computers, or positions of power do. Want to decrease crime? Crime will decrease when the cost of being a criminal significantly increases. If faced with a life or death situation against an intruder or attacker I'd rather have a loaded gun in my trained hands than a cop on the phone, cops are minutes away when split seconds count. And I can also assure the public that the criminal or intruder won't ever be a repeat offender again! I also own guns because I'm an avid hunter and recreational target shooter, and participate in shooting matches. I'm also well aware that with that valuable right comes enormous responsibility too. Every gun owner should realise that.

No! On that point I had an interesting well maybe not interesting conversation with this guy I work with that came from Canada. We were talking about how guns are pretty restricted up there vs. in the states and he was saying that the violent crime is about identical % wise per population. He said instead of a gun being used a knife, baseball, etc more blunt type objects filled the gaps where they don't have the guns. Some how our brain dead politicians think if they can do away with guns the violent crime will dissapear over night. Nope what disappears was just our rights....

Politicians

The politicians just don't understand.  Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than any of my guns.  Like Ted Nugent says "if guns cause crime, then all of mine are defective!".  Assault is a human action, it's not a device.  It's the individual personality and mind that decides if it will commit crime.  The gun does not in itself cause crime.

Hmmm.. I would definately

Hmmm.. I would definately have to say no... The last time I checked non of my weapons can fire all by themselves. I just recently took a class where they had a guest speaker that was a swat officer in England. He gave the info on how some of the officers are armed while the majority of them are not. He said that they are considering arming more of the officers since they have had a major influx of various gangs and mobs. With that being said do they think that won't happen here? I agree I would rather have a weapon in my hand than have to hide in my bathroom and hope that the bad guy has no idea how to open the door.. The reason governments take away guns is so people fear government and not your government fearing its people. We have become such a bleeding heart society that it is taboo if you say you would harm and intruder. Are we suppose to sit down and have tea and a pastry together? Wake up people the reason people get hurt accidentaly with a weapon is people are not responsible with their weapon. Let me say that again people not guns are responsible.. Ok my rant is over..

I completely agree with your point that too many people, especially in the western world have adopted this politically correct bleeding heart mentallity. Many people today just cannot see the big picture. I personally know people who scoff at the idea of owning guns for personal and home defense. I even know people who would much rather allow a lion or grizzly to rip them apart in front of their crying children rather than to shoot and kill a beast if their life was in danger.  I wonder if they would shoot the beast if their children were in danger.Confused

Oh I can completely envision political correctness being a large contributing factor to the down fall of the USA.  Don't get me wrong though. I will say that I can live the rest of my life just fine without ever having to use deadly force against another human being.  I'm a peace loving person myself, as all sane Americans should be.  But todays bleeding heart mentallity really bothers me - God forbid anyone should act with decisiveness to protect the innocent from criminals these days. banghead

Definite NO!  Outlawing guns

Definite NO!  Outlawing guns will only insure that every criminal out there will be able to do as he pleases, without worry of their victims fighting back.  Laws only affect the law obiding, so making them to supposedly protect the innocent is totally asanine.

Guns have absolutely nothing

Guns have absolutely nothing to do with crime. Most politicians know this at their core as they also know the real reasons behind most anti-gun legislation. Guns are hardware. Human actions are controlled by software. To use a computer analogy, you cannot fix a software problem by addressing the hardware. Crime has been a problem long before guns were around. Since the first man picked up a rock as a weapon to take anothers property. Banning guns makes about as much sense as banning rocks. If you want a cure....you find a bigger rock.
