Planning ahead Elk hunting

I was wondering if anybody has any information on Elk hunting in NE Washington. IDK if I will be able to meander into my hunting grounds of N. Idaho this year and was wondering if anybody could help with any elk hunting here close to home. I hear pretty good luck comes out of the Pend Orialle side of the Mt's and up in the Selkirks........but I'm not too familiar with the areas that far north. Any information would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks,
Bo Overmyer

Planning ahead Elk hunting

hi im new to this forum but from what ive read the elk up there are spread out in small herds of a couple elk. sounds like most of the elk are in the selkirks, but ive seen sign while hunting even over by kettle falls on the w side of the river. best thing to do is alot of scouting. best thing is the regs say any bull. good luck.

elk scouting

i have been hunting the northern selkirks now for several years, and am still trying to put it all together, during muzzle loader season, it is open for both deer and elk at the same time. while the deer are every where, the elk are a little harder to find. however thru persistance. my buddies and I are starting to put some of it together. the biggest heards we have seen at any one time are roughly 8 to 10 critters running together.

ridge runner, seeing how you are from chewelah area, i am sure you know of the ever growing elk heards out at power lake, or down on buck creek, last modern fire arm elk i shot was just off of power, was a 5 X 6 caught him at 10 in the morning in his bed not more then 150 yards off the main road, watching traffic go by.
