Contest

While I became a member during the contest I have stuck around.

With less traffic there is less for me to comment on. I try to at least make my post relevant to the conversation. As for killing things, I'm cooking an antelope chili from a sucessful speedgoat hunt in WY. Big smile

It wouldn't have been possible without the help and friendship of Hunter25. For that he has my gratitude. Now I need to start scouting a little more for my deer hunt in December and try to land some duck and quail, and maybe rabbit, for Thanksgiving Dinner.

it is dead

I really don't care about the contests.  I come back here to this site for one main reason...because I like chating and sharing information and ideas about all things hunting and all things firearm related.  This place started dying out around the end of 2009.  One thing I do see a lot of here are lot of new people signing up all the time.  They sign up just to ask a question, take some information, or demand some scouting advise.  Once they get what they want, they're never heard from again.  They don't come back here to share anything or contribute anything.  This site used to be full of active participants who had a lot to share, a lot to contribute, or at least a lot to debate about.  Not so much anymore.  I readily admit that I've taken long breaks from this site also lately.

I still check it daily, but I think I spend more time sending in PM's about the spammers.  Still love to chat, but those chats seem to be few and far between now.

why

I don't check in daily anymore. Since site was sold and new owners let it flop and left it that way for over a month and would not answer any questions that I asked since I was getting dozens of questions sent to me by members as to what the problem was and when it was getting fixed.
That kinda turned alot of folks off. The previous owners were acvtive members on the site and would engage in the conversations and were easily contacted when problem arose and immediately took care of them.

That being said, my health problems have really put a damper on visiting the site and doing anythong outdoors. Thankfully though I am recovering quite nicely and am looking foreward to getting back to the outdoors and hunting. Mabe then I'll be more likely to visit and tell lies......errrr.....stories!!
