Phew! I got mine

Pretty much everything revolved around me drawing the a deer tag this year 2nd choice.  Was a little worried this when they kept cutting tags, but I think I'm now in business.  In fact, looks like my whole group lucked out this year.  If I didn't draw the tag I wanted or was stuck with leftovers, I wasn't sure what I was going to do.  Everything else can proceed according to plan now though, thank goodness.  Bull and cow tags for those that were going to combo it were the least of our worry.

I know what's going to happen with my elk draw, only thing I'm a little unsure of now is whether I draw a 2nd choice antelope doe tag.

Yes

Congrats. From the purchase tags page I see I drew a deer tag but don't know if first choice buck or 2nd does. From the points page I see i got my first choice antelope buck tag. Nothing on elk yet.

If you got your 2nd choice it

If you got your 2nd choice it will show you gained a point.

I

I read u still hunter but on the point page (draw results pref points) its not showing me anything on deer for 2012, but that page is showing me 0 points for goats for 2012 so I know I got that 1st choice tag. Now if I go to the online purchase tags page it shows 490 code for my deer app and as of today also shows deer code 590 meaning I drew a deer tag but doesn't distinguish whether 1st or 2nd choice. Two different ways to see if u drew but they don't always show the same info at the same time.

Congrats!

Ex, Love it when a plan comes together!  Congrats on the tags.  Are you hunting an area you have hunted before, or is this a new unit for you?

I know I got a deer license, and I know that it was not my 1st choice, but I don't know if it was my 2nd or 3rd choice.  All of my plans do not hinge on which deer license I get, but I am still anxious to find out.  I might get an OTC with Caps archery tag for bear depending on which deer license I get.

I did have a chance to draw my 1st choice antelope tag this year, but it did not happen.  Now I will have to figure out what I am going to do to go after antelope this year.

Elk, I knew I was just getting a point.  Depending on what the rest of my family decides, I am either going OTC rifle or archery.

Good luck!

I've hunted it once before

I've hunted it once before, not new country to me down in the deer areas, but I've never really focused on the higher stuff much for elk there, which we will have to do a little more of this year. Could be a fairly large group, if everyone comes who says they were coming, and elk hunters may outnumber deer hunters.  Myself and two others will likely have elk and deer tags (prob just cow licenses), one guy will just have a deer license.  Not really sure how many elk only guys will be there.

congrats and good luck. glad

congrats and good luck. glad to see someone draw a deer tag this year. Everyone I hunt with wasn't so lucky. The fewer tags really killed are chances of drawing with minimum preference points. But I don't mind waiting another year in fact I wish they would cut deer tags way down for a few years and let are herds recover
