widux - I dont know how you can say bowhunters get unfair amount of time in the woods to hunt deer, lets remember bow hunting is ALOT HARDER to do than useing a gun to hunt, which sometimes it does take months to tag a deer with a bow.
you can also look at it this way (useing your own theory) gun hunters get a unfair advantage for hunting deer since they use guns that can kill a deer 100+ yards away.
its the style you choose to hunt with that determines the time you're allowed to hunt also the area you're hunting in.do you think gun hunters should get 2 months to hunt deer ? if that happened say goodbye to the deer population.

as for muzzleloader season, well in MN our muzzleloader hunters can use their BP guns during the normal firearms season with a scope but come muzzleloader season they cant use a scope on the gun. also their ML/BP season is tied for the longest gun season in MN only the north part is as long which both are 16 days (total days useing ML could be 32 days) other parts of the state during firearms is only 2-8 days

me personally I would like to see MN change up the firearms seasons, allow ML/BP season before regaular firearms season, & put firearms season after the rut.

Ghillieman--i don't want to get into a Pissing contest--But you said your self- bow hunting is harder to do BUT you choose to do it--I choose muzzlegun or rifle- archers took 60,000 deer in 05--not bad eh? more than many states in all seasaons--I still maintain that the archers get an advantage over muzzle gunners- why cause there are more of you than us- also where I live Mathews Bow's home- lots of folks with some clout hunt with bows. I would never however try and say bow hunters should not be given a cjhance or want it outlawed as fighting among our selves is what the antis want.
A few years ago the arechers wanted to outlaw rifle hunting in the area of Ak where I lived-sais it was unsafe due to housing etcBUt never had been an accident etc-They wanted more land exclusive for them- so we, the land owners, made our property off limits to archers- they changed their tune -they did have a special late season which I hunted with my bow on a dog sled and that was rally hard- I can tell you-the two bulls i had near by are most likely still laughing at the thougfht of my dog team wrapped around a tree whilst i struggled through waist deep snow for a shot i never got to take.

widux - I dont know how you get the thinking this is p1ssing & moning/argueeing, which it is not. you claimed bow hunters get unfair amount of time in the woods, I'm just curious why you think that ? because some people could say the same thing about gun hunters getting plenty of time in the woods & killing off herds of deer.

like I said before muzzleloader hunters here can get a total of 32 days in the woods, thats well above the number of days the normal firearms season gives other modernday firearms users. the max they can get for gun hunting is 2-16 days(w/o using a ML/BP)

are you not in WI ? well yea 60,000 is alot but lets remember most areas of WI have a insane deer population.
you want look at MN 2006 harvest numbers ?
roughly 229,000 deer harvested by firearms
roughly 25,000 archery
roughly 13,500 muzzleloaders

& yep archerys get more benifits over muzzleloaders, but theres reasons for that, its harder to fill a tag, & yes archery is allowed in areas where no form of gun hunting is allowed.
I'm curious how long do you think muzzleloaders should have their season ?

widux - wow chill out ! it sure seems like you have a big chip on your shoulder against bow hunters. eye roll (which it clearly seems from what you've wrote)
& you say bowhunters have advantages during the season, yet you dont see the advantages guns/muzzleloaders have over bows eye roll

& yes this will be my last post about this, I just didnt know that you get all worked up over nothing.
