Percussion cap help

Just purchased a new Pietta 1858 New Army Revolver
Always wanted to play with one, just never got around to it till now.

I am a bit confused as to which primers to use
I will be shooting granular Pyrodex "P" with round balls and grease.

Should I be using #10's 0r #11's?

instructions with the revolver don't say a thing about it.

Figure some of you guys probably have a cap & ball revolver.

Re: Percussion cap help

revolvers will normally use the #10 caps.

That is unless you have one that takes #11's, I have both types on different black powder revolvers. I believe that the one that you have takes a #11. Also pick up some Wonder Wads to go over your powder charge. That way you do not have to grease the cylinders to prevent a chain fire.
