All I will say on that subject is that they are full of bologna.
I myself hunted hard every day of the rifle season and did not see a buck in two weeks of hunting and only saw 15 does in 12 days of hunting and I know of many people that did not see a deer and did not get a deer.
The deer population is almost extinct in some mountainous places in Pennsylvania where there were once thousands upon thousands of deer before the new regulations.
Understanding wind currents and thermals in hilly, broken terrain can often be incredibly frustrating. I've found that collecting and storing milkweed seed pods during the late summer has made me a better hunter in the bluff country that I hunt. These little feather like seed dispersers will float on the lightest of air currents and will show you what the wind is not only doing right at you're location but more importantly down range.
