Lyman makes a rear peep sight for the winchester 94 but im not sure if it only fits the pre-angle or not. I personally prefer the marlin 336 myself. No worries about the bolt then. Plus I just like the handeling of the marlin over the winchester levers.

Welcome to the sight. I'm not sure who makes it but my uncle used a mod 94 with a peep sight mounted on the rear tang. The sight should still be avaliablr somewhere, maybe Lyman.

Lyman makes those too... Forgot about Tang mounts. The one I was referring to uses a couple of screws that are already there on the side of the reciever.

Thanks for the responses. I'm also looking at the Marlin 1894. Anybody have a preference out of these two guns? The Marlin 1894 has side-ejection which might be nice.

Its according to what and where you are planning on hunting as far as if that would be the proper rifle for you. The 1894's are pistol chamberings in a rifle, I.E. the 44, 44mag, 357mag, and 32/20 which will all down deer at a reasonably close range. My prefrence would be in the rifle cartriges of the 336 such as the 30/30 , .35, .444 or the .35 wheeland in a lever gun. Get some more distance and more power with these at around the same cost for the rifle.
