I've got a new to me Marlin 336 / in 30-30. Its around 20 years old. I was sighting it in and found I needed to have the back sight on its lowest possible setting. Decided to try a peep sight, but the Williams model for that specific gun will not go low enough. Do I need a higher front sight or am I doing something wrong? The base of the front bead stands a little over a 1/4 inch over the barrel.
Thanks
