I'm dying to leave to go deer hunting right now, but all I can do is look at weather reports. While I'm only going to be gone for this weekend, I can't help but look at the coming snow.
I've got to be patient, we're going have snow in my area everyday from Monday through Saturday of next week and my tag is good until Sunday the 14th.
I've got be patient, can't get too antsy, the big boys are coming out of the hills soon.
But this is KILLING ME!

I hope you find that buck of your dreams.
One of the guys that I know that hunts the unit your in this year got his son on a great buck and got the job done. It is 5 inches bigger than mine, it has the same frame as mine but just a little heavier.

Heck this time of year, I am like that non-stop. As soon as one hunt ends I am thinking ahead to the next hunt. It starts in July or August, since our season starts the first weekend in September.
If I ever los that feeling, I don't want to hunt anymore. Best of luck to you! Hope for a good report when you get back!

Shouldn't you be working right now haha. You aren't off yet. I'm just messing with you. You've only got a couple more hours. Sorry I couldn't cover for you buddy but I'm sitting through the most horrible GIS lab on habitat preference. It's so bad that I gave up on listening to the professor and I'm just gonna wait for him to finsish before I start. Good luck on your hunt buddy. I hope you nail a monster.

I know about not losing the feeling. I am hunting, but i am also planning next years hunt too. I'll be out again Wed. I'm trying a different spot where I have seen some really big rubs. I've left it alone until now and I am hoping for some big action.

mixed results
passed up a little dude and blew opportunities on bigger guys. Wasn't seeing near the numbers of deer up high or down low. Wasn't sure what effect that second season storm had. We'll give em another crack next weekend. 3 of my hunting partners are still out there, so hopefully they'll be coming with something. Did blow a chance on a 170 inch deer with kickers on his left side. Just too fast, and I wasn't willing to butt shoot him
