painting rifle stock

I'm looking at painting a black synthetic rifle stock. I would like to paint it just a basic colour probably dark green, no camo or anything, and maybe with a contrasting over coat. Any suggestions on paint to use, technique or if anyone has experience doing this that would be great. Pictures would also be appreciated.

thanks

Dura coat or Alumahyde (brownells brand). Clean stock with rubbing alcohol and follow paint directions. I've used both and the duracoat is by far the best. Alumahide is a close second, I do have a few "cooked" spots on my M-4 from getting it to hot. It just truned the paint a little brown.
