Packable Rain Gear?

OK,

One more thing... I am looking for packable rain gear that doesn't take up to much room in the backpack. I have Military issue gortex park aand pants but these are more for cold weather. I have been looking at cabela's silent stalk gear but according to some of the reviews I have read they really aren't that quiet... What I am looking for is something light weight, breathable, packable and quiet. Has anyone run across something like this in their endeavors???? YH

Yankeehunter, We get very little rain here in the west. I usually bring along a cheap waterproof poncho that doesn't make noise.

although hiker is right, rain gear is still a good thing to have in your pack. Seems to me i always end up using mine when archery hunting elk here in CO. My rain coat folds up very small and has a carrying case. It's a guide series tech 2.5 from gander mountain. I recomend it, it is very affordable and quiet and has kept me dry while chasin bulls. if you have a gander mountain store near by, check out their rain gear, it's very inexpensive and it works Thumbs up

hellomcfly,

Ok, I have to know are you a big Michael J. Fox fan? Anyway....Now, that was what I was lookin' for....first hand equipment experience...Thanks! Now, my problem is that Gander Mountain has written me off and hasn't sent me a catalogue and the nearest store is 120 miles away. Their website is pretty poor, I couldn't find anything dealing with hunting apparel... I did however, fill out their PDF form for a catalogue...... I currently have the time to wait for a catalogue but they better hurry up...... Big smile

The cabelas dry-plus packable gear is what I bought several years ago its light weight and fairlly compact and really has been worth every penny
