Wow -- you are one gullible individual. I've worn Level IV body armor with inch-thick ceramic plates in front and back -- and that's only designed to protect against a 7.62 round. Most centerfire rifle rounds in common use will penetrate body armor commonly used by police -- which is generally designed to protect against handgun rounds.

How long are you going to stay blind? Until someone defines your bolt action rifle as a long-range sniper weapon capable of piercing police body armor?

Here is the language on which Obama voted yea. It is very broad and definitely could be used to ban hunting ammo. As I read the language, the ammo doesn't actually have to be able to pierce body armor, but just be more capable of piercing it than other ammo of the same caliber.

It leaves a lot of discretion to the AG, which is appointed by whom?

Quote:
SEC. 5. ARMOR PIERCING AMMUNITION.

(a) EXPANSION OF DEFINITION OF ARMOR PIERCING AMMUNITION.--Section 921(a)(17)(B) of title 18, United States Code, is amended--

(1) in clause (i), by striking ``or'' at the end;

(2) in clause (ii), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and

(3) by adding at the end the following:

``(iii) a projectile that may be used in a handgun and that the Attorney General determines, under section 926(d), to be capable of penetrating body armor; or

``(iv) a projectile for a center-fire rifle, designed or marketed as having armor piercing capability, that the Attorney General determines, under section 926(d), to be more likely to penetrate body armor than standard ammunition of the same caliber.''.

Look at who voted for it and who voted against it - very telling.

Nice, she's holding a pellet gun. Should be a SAW or M-60 to go along with your theme more.

CVC, you are saying "could be interpreted" that's sliding down a slippery slope of interpretation. Show me again where our Noslers our threatened.

The nosler partition is threatened under:

3.5.iv (...to be more likely to penetrate body armor than standard ammunition of the same caliber...)

Presumably "standard ammunition" is an fmj bullet, although it could just be a lead non-jacketed bullet (nice loophole for the AG).

Nosler partitions are well known for their superior penetration over fmj or simple lead bullets. Indeed its even in Nosler literature:

Quote:
Enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration.

"It is very broad and definitely could be used to ban hunting ammo. "

Could be intrepreted.

Don't you think those amount to be just about the same exact meaning. You want to play word games and throw the "Liar" word around be my guest.

Dude, grow up seriously. I certainly didn't intend to Lie about anything and that is how, I understood or 'intrepreted' your post.

Well, when I see Noslers taken off the store shelfs, I'll agree you are right. In the mean time I will stick to my assertion that is not what the legislation intends. Nice way to intrepret it though (you know to fit into the scare tactics).

Hey, CVC you removed the post where you called me a liar making my post seem like it doesn't fit. Thanks.

I deleted the post before you posted yours because I decided you weren't worth the time. But since you saw it, I will respond to you.

When you put a statement in quotes and say someone wrote it, then you are saying that is the exact words they used.

And no, I don't think they are the same - what I said is very different.

You wrote that I wrote something that I did not write - doesn't matter if you intended to lie or not, you did lie. Plain and simple. Telling me to grow is pointless coming from someone who quotes and attributes a statement to someone who did not write it.

Here is a challenge for you. Answer these simple questions.

You wrote this - CVC, you are saying "could be interpreted" that's sliding down a slippery slope of interpretation.

Did I actually write what you put in quotes and attributed to me?

So, if the answer is yes, show me where I actually wrote those words.

If no, then what you wrote was a lie - wasn't it?

Yes you are right - which is why I decided to respond. I thought I had deleted it before anyone read it, but I was wrong.

So, I thought it was only right to post again.
