I just took preference points this year. I was going to put in for NE OR but the snow is too deep. Fall would be better. Just be warned that there is still a lot of snow up high, you might have to hunt at pretty low elevations. Good Luck to ya.. Git a big'un!

Thumbs up

i love the snow for tracking, but if any bears are out chances are i'll be seeing them low.the hills in the sw area are pretty tough sometimes and thick isn't really a word i'd use, more like impassable with a few less scratchy spots, but it is good bear territory.hopefully i'll get to see something worth the trouble of packing it out of that stuff and it'll be all down hill and easy!

same here Numbnutz, glad to have the extra snow, but now that I wanna go hunting it could melt a tad faster...lol
Was scouting around the "mountain house" on hwy 20. Down by the creek found one paw print I thought might have been a smaller bear. Havnt seen any other prints nor any fur stuck on branches and such. Still snow on ground, so they prolly still keeping warm in thier dens.

Good luck on your hunts

Hehehe told me wife same thing Ill be doing most me hunting up near the mountain house, and the "old santaim wagon road". Fish Lake on hwy 126 and across the moutain to hwy 20 and that area. Was talking with an 'old timer" who was saying in years past he did lots of bears up there......figured to give it a try.

If ya come across some one who looks lost ....that'll be me lol

Has anyone been up past Detroit lately? What's the snow like? Was thinking about doing some scouting over spring break with my son but wasn't sure how deep the snow was.
