H-1000 powder would be a logical choice.

I use Hodgdon Retumbo in my 300 RUM so it should be a suitable powder choice as well. It is made for the over-bored calibers and the STW fits in there.

i use Rotumbo in my 30-378 and was kind of leaning toward that and the H-1000 i use the H-1000 for all my weatherby rounds and it seems to like that powder. so thanks for the info.

That's an interesting recommendation in the Chuck Hawks' article to use RL22. I would certainly try the H1000 or the Retumbo. I like a slower powder. My 270wsm like H1000. I don't recall the charge but it is in the 70ish grain range with a 130 and going faster than the Weatherby 270 with the same barrel length.

well i know that some of my loads with RL19 75gr, and 140 gr ballistic tip are clocking 3345fps average with an average spread of only 28fps. and it seems to like the reloader so i might stick with that. thanks guys keep the advice coming.

IMR 7828 and 4831 are usually good for high case capacity cartridges. IMR makes an SSC 7828 now too.
