opinions on Weaver scopes???

I have an opportunity to buy a Weaver V9 scope for my daughter's .243. It has never been used. Have any of the readers owned a Weaver "V" scope and how good are they?

Haven't owned a Weaver "V," but I did own a Weaver scope several years ago. It was a fine piece of optics. Not quite as good as my Leupold, but not nearly as expensive, either.

I too have not tried a Weaver "V" but have used Weavers for many years and they performed excellently. I have a fixed 4X on my 30.30 now. Never had one fog up or bust loose the cross hairs. I cant say that about my Charles Daly or Redfield. Bushnell and Simmons, and Tasco are also doing a fine job for me right now.

Like the others I haven't tried a "V" either, but have used weaver scopes with no problems. The steel tubes are nice, since they take bumps better than the aluminum used by other manufactures.
