Well did any of you SC boys hunt? Not me still tending the honey and work do's. Been gettign ready to slap some cowpeas in a few small kill plots i have for the Sept 15 opener here. Meanwhile I am honing up the edges on my broadheads and stickbow shooting skills. Looking forward to another deer season, but I aint going to kid you its just to darn hot to feel like deer season out there now. The air doesnt even smell right.
Haven't been yet. Prob. gonna go Sept. 2 morning with the rifle. It has been really hot lately. Going to the club this weekend and make sure all is still good with the stands that I put up last month. I have been seeing alot of sign all summer so I am hoping for a good season.
One of the best ways to scout your hunting area is to look for signs that mature animals leave behind. Wallows, scrapes, rubs and areas littered with tracks are great evidence that game are using your area. But why not look for the single piece of evidence that you are hunting for when fall rolls around anyway... antlers. Game animals in the family cervidae shed their antlers annually. Why not use these unique souvenirs as a way of helping you fill your tag next fall?
