Old Remington model 6

I have an old remington model 6, .22 ( http://www.remington.com/library/history/firearm_models/centerfire/model... ) Which was my grandfathers. I was wondering if there is a market for a gun like this or if it's worth anything. It's in pretty rough shape, but still fires just fine, I fire it occasionally but have no use for it, and it has no sentimental value for my grandfather or myself. If it's worth anything I will probably trade it in when buying a new gun but wanted to know a little something about it so the gun shop doesn't try to screw me.

Thanks

Check out GUNBROKER.COM. They have an auction catagory for older guns and you may see some on there and may find out what they are selling for.

Take a look at the serial #( as noted in your link). That's what the collectors look at. Sometimes there are production changes in the middle of manufacturing or flaws that make a firearm very valueable.
There are many good books( Gun Digest I beleive is one) that can help you.

Let us know what you find out, I'm curious Thumbs up

The Serial number is either 25931 or 5931, I believe it's the first one, I don't have the gun on hand it's at my cabin so I can't double check. If anyone could tell me how I can pu this serial number to good use I would appreciate it.

thanks
