it really surprises me the harvest is up, the weather has been unbelievably warm here this year, the rut outa be kickin off this week, cold front coming in tonite outa put em in full swing, up in KS there going strong i passed on 5 bucks sunday all were trailing does, the 6th buck of the morning (11:15am) got a razor sharp muzzy behind his shoulder, he was 8 point with a 4in drop on his left side, he grosses 151in, hopefully my hope state of OK will be as good to me in the next few days.
Congrats on that deer. Lets see a pic of it. Yeah I bet the rut is gonna be in full swing during rifle season. I hope to get a chance to stick one with a bow wed though sounds like we are gonna have some cold weather, I sure hope so
i whatched a 160 class 10 point chase a doe for about 2 hrs before work this morning, couldnt believe they were out in a 30-50mph wind, guess i shoulda took a stand instead of a seat in the truck this morning,
Jim Zumbo, Craig Boddington, Ron Spomer and Wayne Van Zwoll are all solid contributers to the modern hunting literature. Through their gifts (both hunting and writing) they make us better hunters. Whether it is letting us learn from their mistakes or by teaching us new techniques, they help us harvest more game. But I suggest looking to the oldies, the fathers of the outdoor writing craft, to learn tricks that you might have not used.
