Okies or Yankees? Read at your own risk!

Buck:
I have no idea whether Gen Risner was involved in cockfighting. As far as I know the only connection was through the squadron name, which was established long before he was assigned there.

Don't know where you can get a patch. That's mostly a unit thing, but perhaps you can find patch collectors on eBay or the web that could hook you up.

As far as the Supreme Court judge in Alabama, he really fell on his sword over the Commandments. When he had them placed in the Supreme Court lobby, you gotta know he was aware of what would happen. Between his actions and the public statements he made during the controversy, he was using the issue to make a point in public that the ACLU and crew were removing religious underpinnings from the legal system. As expected, higher legal authority eventually rolled in and overrode him.

Gotta give him credit for guts, though.

I would settle for a knock off I don't really expect to get the Generals personal patch. I looked at them, and some are kinda repetive but some I really like.

Good luck in your search. While you're at it, you might be interested to know that the 67th belongs to the 18th Wing, whose patch dates back to the 1930s and features a gamecock on a yellow field. The wing motto, "Unguibus Et Rostro" is displayed at the bottom of the crest, and translates to "With Talons and Beak." The patch site I posted previously has a link to scans of 18th Wing patches if you hit the "start" link at the top.

You can pick up an 18th Wing Patch for $7.00 from http://www.av8rstuff.com It's under the USAF Fighter section under F-15C.

I really thank you for the info. I went to the bait and chase thread and started to post, but thought better of it. They were talking about the coyoties and I remember when the government was supplying cyanide guns to farmers at the ASCS office. But the AR's took care of that in short order. Those things are rampant around here (coyoties)not AR's, not yet anyways. The government started a wild turkey program here about ten years ago and the coyoties multiplied faster than the birds. I had one nesting in my field, she had eggs one day and shells the next, there was also coyotie tracks there. The brood birds cost the state a $1000.00 each. Go figure.

Buck you may want to check out ebay, perhaps a patch would come up there.

Expatriate, I think the reservations can do what ever they please regarding chicken fighting, much like gambling, they don't have to have "permission". However there seems to be some debate on this, check this out

I went to that link and I don't put too much faith in what the Daily Oklahoman, or that AR rag the Tulsa World prints. I was personally involved with some of these stories that they have reported recently and I know that they edit the news to suit their purpose. Also it gets me how they can accept contracts for political ads, from both sides. Then two days before an election come out against one side or the other doing irreputable harm. There by giving in essence a ton of free advertisement to the side of their choice. It seems as though there would be a great conflict of interest. I believe they should be made to give the other side the same amount of free time or maybe the justice dept needs to look at them. What are your thoughts?

Apparently somebody in Oklahoma had the same thought that I did -- that Indian reservations may be in a position to raise some serious money by becoming havens for game fowlers, depending on how many of them stay in business. The question is whether the tribe would be willing to do that.

Pardon my unfamiliarity with the issue. I was unaware of what was going on until it became an issue on this forum.

If the nations have been trying to get this set up for the past five years, is this an attempt for the state to shut down the industry in the hope that it'll be too dead for the Indians to pick up when they get around to it? Once the reservations are involved, the state can't regulate it anymore. Almost seems like a power move to try to shut down the industry while they still can.

Don't know how the reservations are in Oklahoma, but if they're like Montana they'd be real resentful of non-Indians trying to affect their policy after the fact.
