oil and the economy

Did anyone notice the housing bubble burst at the same time oil hit all time highs,Even the dems saw it , in 2003 at 1.72 gal. they blamed Bush for high oil prices, 4-22-06 according to USA today the dems. blamed Bush for high oil prices & not enough alt. energy. In 07 Senator O asked the FTC to investigate Big Oil, gas went from 2.17 to 3.22. 2008 Candidate  O urged the DOJ to investigate energy traders, and said we should implement a windfall profits tax any time oil is over 80$ .Now I hear gas should reach 5$ gal in the next year, but I don't hear anything from Pres.O, except to ban drilling in a lot of places we know have oil. If you think the economy dropped before, wait for 5$ gas, ask yourself how thats going to fit in your budget, squeeze a little more America, the big O knows you've got more, and there are poor that need it more than you.

stay out

I am of the opinion that the less government has to do with business (beyond keeping health and sfatey regulated) is better.

No more bail outs.

No more deals.

No more anything except let the market drive bad business decision makers out of business.

Hard to Understand

The thing that keeps amazing me is how it is that so many people can't see through the huge contradictions of this guy.

aaalaska stated it very well, and yet when (many) people look at those facts, they say, "And your point is....?"

I have heard of mass hysteria and mass hypnosis - I think this must qualify as mass blindness.

It's the Cloward-Piven strategy.  Overload the system, precipitate a mass collapse, and channel the resulting panic to reengineer the entire thing to your satisfaction.  This administration's pattern has always been to invoke some impending crisis to justify some action that has to be taken RIGHT NOW without asking any questions.
