The best thing you can do in October is find a trail and sit tight. All I do in September and October is sit in a tree stand near an area I expect the deer to visit or walk by and wait. When November comes then I use estrous scents to try and attract the bucks. If a buck walks down wind of an estrous scent at this time of the year he will most likely come in to check it out.

Find where a two segments of woods come together possibly a loggingroad I always look for a spot where pine trees and bottoms meet and then find where their crossing at and poor the corn to em.
