Obama's Anti Gun Agenda Urgent Notice

I sent a contact form to them asking where the Agenda pages were and why they were removed.
We'll see what they say.
I'll let you know.

I finally received a reply to my concern about the removal of the Gun Control agenda from Obamas' website. It took almost a month, but at least I got a reply even if it was a rubber stamp reply. It is pasted below.
It failed to address my question and concerns and mentioned nothing about what was on the site about Guns and the 2nd Amendment or "sensible gun control".
My question to them was a simple, "Why did you remove the contents of your website where you stated your agenda for your Presidency, especially concerning Gun Control and 2nd Amendment stance? Were you lying about not "coming after our guns" or do you intend to proceed as stated in your agenda before it was removed?"

Dear Johnny Tapia,

Thank you for contacting us with questions regarding the policy agenda of President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden. They have listened to the hopes, concerns and ideas of people across our country and developed innovative approaches to challenge the status quo in Washington and bring about the change America needs.

The incoming Obama-Biden administration has a comprehensive and detailed policy agenda. Among many important domestic and foreign policy objectives, the priorities of the new Administration include: reviving the economy; provide affordable, accessible health care to all; strengthening our public education and social security systems; defining a clear path to energy independence and tackling climate change; ending the war in Iraq responsibly and finishing our mission in Afghanistan; and working with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

We appreciate the outpouring of interest in the new administration and hope you will stay involved.

Sincerely,
The Obama-Biden Transition Project

Only a Politician could take two paragraphs to say absolutely nothing!!! We need to make a law that says all political correspondence must fit on a sticky note. That'll teach em. Thanks Jtap.

It's not different than anything else they said during the campaign -- a lot of buzzwords and cliches that sound great but don't mean anything.

Haven't checked this thread in a while. You guys do go on. If it makes you happy I'm back in commy land this AM and happy to be here, got stopped 5 times (I counted) in last 50 km in Thailand by Thai cops with an attitude, demanding papers, everyone on truck silent. When we are done no joking, Laos feels free - er. Oh, and the only weapons I've seen since crossing aren't semi auto anything, I'll let you all know when I eat my first moo pa (wild jungle pig) keep on kiinging,

PS If you guys cling to guns and religion are you all considered "cling ons" ?

I think I agree with your post (little fuzzy but I think I understand).

You're in a country where only the government has weapons - automatic weapons and they use their authority to keep tight control over the people who fear them because the government is the only ones that have weapons.

Basically, the people are more like subjects than citizens and are in fear of the government. Hence, the point that the key to a free country is our 2nd amendment right.

Yeah, I used to work with a guy that was in line for the throne of Laos. His family was imprisoned or murdered and survivors swam the Mekong to escape from those people that are running the place now.

Using Laos as an example of freedom without the 2nd Amendment is laughable. Surely all those Hmong victims of years of Pathet Lao genocide would disagree with you.

Here's a video link that shows a lot of those semi-autos/autos you're not seeing -- in the hands of Hmong defending themselves against the people you're holding up as peaceful. I think they'd disagree with you about whether people should have arms to protect themselves.

Thanks for posting the link expat.

From the video I can see where civetcat would feel right at home over there...as long as he is on the side who has the guns.
I bet he can't wait for the streets of America to look like that.

Actually regular people have guns. Every town has a local militia and everyone who belongs keeps an AK at home, also anyone who hunts pig has to use one.

Mostly that video is made from old photos from the 1970s but also from some of the photos from Roger Arnold

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mi68GYu64k&eurl=http://laobumpkin.blogsp...

A young reporter from the BBC and an Italian for Time have also spent time photographing and traveling with Hmong disident groups. Interestingly it is your beloved George Bush and his with us or against us strategy of the war on terror that have had worse affect on the plight of the Hmong than anyone. The cooperatiion of the Lao govt with the US caused the US to withdraw what support they had given the Hmong and rule those who used to fight for us paid by our govt to be labeled terrorists and ineligible for refuge imigration status once they reach Thailand.

Other than a short wet season offensive in August all has been very quiet, the only event being the forced repatriation of refugees from Thailand. Then no one hears of them again. I do think genocide is too strong a label, that would be like labeling the war in Iraq genocide.

The whole Hmong thing is limited to a very specific area and a very specific group of Hmong. Many other Hmong are in govt, business, etc. Indeed the comander of the whole region where the troubles occur is a Hmong general.

Ordinary Laotians have less knowledge of what goes on inside the Xaisambone special zone that do say for instance Americans of what is happening in Guantonamo.

It is the police in Thailand right next door, the home of one of our infamous black sites, where people fear the police. The record of extrajucial murder is better this year than in the past but they have a poor record since Thaskins war on drugs. When Hmong or Lao from American agitate and plot against the Lao government they always seem to end up dead in Thailand, where police are more for sale.

Many US citizens of Lao decent are now traveling to and even retiring to Laos. The war was a long long time ago.

I honestly can't track this guy. In one thread he's bashing assault weapons, and in another he's talking about everyone having them and their utility for pig hunting.

I guess it boils down to political persuasion. If you're a communist, assault weapons are OK. But if you believe in freedom, they're not. I find it very telling that his posts are full of anti-American rants, but yet communist Laos is some sort of Nirvana.
