Obama win triggers a run on firearm sales

The Denver Post has published several articles about the run on firearm & ammo sales here in Colorado. However it appears this is happening nationwide.

Since the sales are real, does that mean the fear is real? One article implied this was more for investment purposes rather than buying out of fear.

Do a search on google news for "firearm sales" and you'll find even foreign publications reporting on the surge in firearm sales.

I'm wondering if I should be stocking up as well. Think

As I posted elsewhere, I just bought a new rifle. Then I bought one for my son in law. The wholesaler said assault rifles and handguns are flying off the shelves. Prices are rapidly going up. Ammo is disappearing fast, too.

Obama and Biden's tracks are all too clear -- most people who remember the Clinton gun ban aren't inclined to sit around and wait for legislation to pass. AR-15s are going to be the Tickle Me Elmo of the 2008 Christmas season.

Fear, whether real or not is always good for business or manipulating people. Those companies are probably praising Obama's name right now, what with the kind of sales you're reporting.

Funny how you always pigeonhole people and throw labels around to avoid issues.

I just remembered who you remind me of. Harry Truman. Not the president -- the guy who lived on Spirit Lake at the base of Mt St. Helens who refused to believe all of the warnings, geologists, and authorities that came to his door trying to get him to evacuate. He said all of them were fearmongers, too.

The only thing you have to counter the mountains of legislative record and documented statements documenting Obama's anti-gun stance is his own statement made on the campaign trail in order to get elected. But even that was shaky, because he defined the 2nd amendment as applying to hunters in rural areas -- when it came to cities, self defense, etc, he got fuzzy and started talking about "common sense" regulation.

It's very simple (at least it is to the rest of us ): mountains of anti-gun evidence vs a carefully hedged campaign statement that's full of loopholes.

As I said, a con man's job isn't to convince skeptics. His job is to convince the gullible that they can continue believing what they want to believe. He's done a great job with you.

Well I'm glad anyone is out spending money for any reason.

Been keeping watch and haven't seen any black helicopters here.

No worries about black helicopters, because that cliche suggests secrecy. He's going to do it out in plain sight on a wave of fawning adulation -- same thing his type has been doing throughout history.
