We did read it. We do not condone posts that talk about killing people, we also look at the context of the post. Though we don't know what Bunnyslayer's exact intentions were, we assumed it was in reference to the war in Iraq and/or individuals involved in war crimes ie. individuals held at Gitmo. War is about killing, no way to get around that.

So civetcat, you wish to have this post edited, how about your comment about Lieberman being thrown under the bus on another thread?

CVC, is that you? If so thrown under the bus is a common term that has nothing to do with actually physically throwing them under a bus, but rather means to sacrifice some other person, usually one who is undeserving or at least vulnerable, to make personal gain. Here's the link: http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/52/messages/370.html

So, I think it's safe to assume civetcat didn't actually intend anyone to be thrown under a bus, but rather meant it as described above. However, if one wanted to act dramatic and prude they could construe it in that way. Thumbs up

SoCo using your source phrases.org.uk indicates that "kill them all, and let God sort them out" is also a phrase used to indicate that God will know His own.

http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/42/messages/1108.html

So it can be argued that Bunnyslayer was also simply using a figure of speech, a quote or phrase and didn't mean it literally.

I knew I'd kick up an anthill with that post and I wasn't dissapointed! The ants scurried out of their holes and misquoted and "assumed" what they wanted to assume. We all know how to spell assume don't we? Where in my post does it say anything about muslims or decent law abiding people of Islam? Answer, no where! I specified and I quote here"Tangos". For those unfamiliar with the term it is military radio jargon for terrorist. Not soldier, not civilian, not muslim not prisoner of war but TERRORIST. In my view (and that of the UN and the geneva convention) they are not lawful combatants but crimminals and can be executed as such. Where is this advocating genocide based on religious prefference? As usual civetcat and SoCokhunter use parts, pieces and tidbits to twist, use and misdirect something in to what they wish it to be. If some of you were offended by my remark I have no apology to offer you. We are in a war on terror and war is ugly. We don't purposly target and engage innocents, the enemy does. For them I have no sympathy. I don't care what religion they practice. Just another example in a long line of same how the left likes to twist the truth.

"Kill them all, let God sort them out" is also a slogan on some very popular Tee shirts.

That's not a turn of phrase.

I find the reference to the Koran and the suggestion that it's ok to gratuitously kill people distastefull.

From the anonymous moderator

It is a war crime to kill unarmed prisoners. Often unarmed people are killed in the heat of combat on the front lines, while not good it is a part of all wars and often commited by both sides. I can understand that.

The quoted post is entirely differnent. Under some circumstances the quoted text might well be taken very seriously. This is either an exhortation to kill all Muslims or at best to kill unarmed prisoners of Gitmo who have never been charged or convicted of anything. Indeed many have been released because they had ablsolutely nothing to do with any war or any terorist acts. Some were minors at the time of their incarceration.

Quote:
Do I have a problem that some tangos went waterboarding and got their poor little government issue Koran stepped on

This is a reference to torturing prisoners and disrespecting their religion.

Moderator frankly I'm suprised. Does BigGameHunt.net condone the torture and killing of unarmed POWs who by nature of their capture and inprisonment are the responsiblity of the United States? Does BigGameHunt.net condone talking about breaking the Geneva Convention by killing and torturing minor POW prisoners? Does BigGameHunt.net believe it's ok to disrespect other peoples religion?

What would you think if you saw this post with the name of this site quoted in a newspaper? This is obviously something we wouldn't be proud of. In the give and take of political discussion I often read things that give me pause, but seldom posts that would make me ashamed. As an American, and a contributer to this forum I beleive we can do better.

Educate yourself my boy. We went to Iraq with in a UN Coalition to enforce UN resaloutions against WMD's, Genocide and Human Rights violations among others.

Oh boy! Where did you hear that? The U.N. inspectors working under Hans Blix found no such weapons (though they found some nuclear documents, Vulcan boosters, and several empty warheads from chemical weapons), and they did not recommend any invasion. The Iraq war wasn't sanctioned by anybody but the government of the United States and the 'Coalition of the Willing' had no backing that wasn't achieved through lies and deceit. That's why it's such an unpopular war.

I get my information from several sources and a lot of it is committed to memory.
Since you have posted links and said untruthful things I will also post links and attempt to educate you also.
First, Any war should be unpopular.
Secondly,if you want any sort of credibility then never use UC-Berkeley as a source unless you are trying to use left wing sources to advance left wing Ideology.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441 is what authorized the Iraq invasion. It states that "authorized Member States to use all necessary means to uphold and implement its resolution 660 (1990) of 2 August 1990 and all relevant resolutions subsequent to resolution 660 (1990) and to restore
international peace and security in the area'"
The following resolutions are collectively used as UN Resolution 1441.

(Resolution 660, Resolution 661, Resolution 678, Resolution 686, Resolution 687, Resolution 688, Resolution 707,
Resolution 715, Resolution 986, and Resolution 1284)
Source http://www.worldpress.org/specials/iraq/unscr1441.htm

This is what Hans Blix reported to the UNSC.
On December 19, Hans Blix reported before the United Nations and
stated in regards to Iraq's December 7 report (unedited version): "During the period 1991-1998, Iraq submitted many declarations called full, final and complete. Regrettably, much in these declarations proved inaccurate or incomplete or was unsupported or contradicted by evidence. In such cases, no confidence can arise that proscribed programmes or items have been eliminated." By March, Blix declared that the December 7 report had not brought any new documentary evidence to light.
Iraq continued to fail to account for substantial chemical and biological stockpiles which UNMOVIC inspectors had confirmed as existing as late as 1998. Iraq claimed that it had disposed of its anthrax stockpiles at a specific site, but UNMOVIC found this impossible to confirm since Iraq had not allowed the destruction to be witnessed by inspectors as required by the pertinent Resolutions. Chemical testing done at the site was unable to show that any anthrax had been destroyed there.

And lastly from another page of the Link you provided.
Based on the data provided by Iraq, the two declared variants of the Al
Samoud 2 missile were capable of exceeding 150 kilometres in range. This missile system is therefore proscribed for Iraq pursuant to resolution 687 (1991) and the monitoring plan adopted by resolution 715 This missile system meets the criteria of a WMD.
Case molds were also discovered to have been "reconstituted" and could still be used to manufacture motor cases and casings for this missile system.

I can go on and on but trust that you can also google this information up.
Take some advice and look at unbiased sources before believing what the MSM and left wing kool aid cafes spew forth as fact.
If you disagree with the War and Bush that's fine by me but don't relate that what I stated was somehow misleading when there are sufficient facts available for all to see if one cares to look.

As to your first statemant. No where did I suggest gratuitous killing. These are your words not mine. If you find killing in general distasteful, protest terrorism, not war against it.
It is a war crime to kill unarmed prisoners. Tell this to those that murdered members of our media and civillians on video. Once again you cannot read what is in front of you without twisting the truth. I said TERRORISTS!! Get it through your head if you can.

You keep talking about the geneva convention. Try reading it sometime. You can execute terrorists.

Finally if you wish to be ashamed to be an American ( and I have no doubt you do) go ahead. Just don'e blame others for your shame. I am proud of what I said, I stand behind my words. I'm also proud to be an American.

As to disrespecting someone's religion, I have nothing against true Islam. True disrespect is what the hatemongers in certains sects of this religion have twisted it into. Get over yourself and learn to read what people write, not what you want to read into it.
