Hunted east of the Oak Ridge area back in the late 90's and early 2000. Understand that Oak Ridge has expanded into the area I hunted and there are a couple campgrounds added along with some oil exploration. I'm assuming this means more hunter in the area. Usually went 3rd season and if the weather hit hunting was good. If not it was tuff but usually saw some. Anyone been in that area lately and give me some insite in what has changed in the last 14 years. Still thinking 3rd season. Figured if weather didn't hit I could work my way up towards the Flat tops till I find them.

Oak Ridge has not changed

Oak Ridge has not changed much over the years other than they have closed a few roads. Still can be some good hunting if the pressure in the NF gets to much and we get some snow. Since it is not real easy access not as many hunters as in the past especially if you hike into the back or east sections. Shoot me a PM if you want to talk but I am leaving Wednesday for 2nd season.
