Great brookie!! I've seen pictures of big ones like this before and I know they ar eout there but most of my experience with them is limited to very small creeks and beaver ponds. The average brookie we catch is more like 5 inches and runin ht eounces not pounds. I'ts always great fun though and we go at least once a year as that's how the kids all cought thier first fish and it's gotten to be sort of a tradition. It's not always the size of the fish but the enjoyment of the day and the memories made and remembered.

that's the one thing i didn't get to do while home in Vermont.  I always fish for brookies with my Dad, but we had a series of thunderstorms that rolled through and the water was high and muddy.  The ones we catch though are cookie cutter 10 inch ones.  Great for the frying pan, not so much the record book!
