Thanks for some good to read and interesting information. I have just started to get into waterfowl hunting this last year with some duck and goose hunting on the Colorado river. I nedd to get some better gear for this coming year as I nearly froze to death the last time out but I will be much better prepared the next time. My friend hunts a lot but according to him the sight of pintails around here is fairly rare as he only got one chance at some last year and quickly blew it with an easy miss. By far the majority of ducks are mallards at least on the river with nearly as many geese flying around as well.

Wow that is good news...maybe I had better try and get out there more and chase them ducks around a bit more and give the geese a break.....ok maybe not....I like shooting geese better but I would not mind a nive Pintail for the wall.

Thats really cool on the number of pintails.  we don't see to many down here in New Mexico.  hope to get some shooting in this fall and winter.  the duck hunting picks up around the end of Nov.  and is good all the way in to Jan.  I am more a goose hunter but i won't pass up some ducks.  Now i am all pumped up about bird hunting this year and i haven't even gone on my Antelope hunt yet...  Didn't get out much last year cause i had a new born at home.  i can't wait to take him with me.
