Hope So

I hope the turkeys are introduced, as long as it wont affect our local species. I hear they are some of the best hunting there is.

Too many tree hugging, misinformed activist groups opposing the intro. iniative for the gov't to allow it to pass. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and we have some damn squeaky groups up here that can't stand hunting and what it stands for.

Were going to try next in New Brunswick. The only thing different here is, we now have reports of birds along the border coming in from Maine. Wish us luck.

Wild Turkey and huggers

Howdy Boys,

My 2 cents worth, We always get turned down in N.S. whats new?

We have been trying for years to get Spring bear hunt ,turned down everytime because in other provinces sows and cubs taken has given some sour notes.
But the province has managed to get us a little help, with the extention of the bear hunts along with the deer season.

The turkey deal is sickening to say the least,a friend of mine from Digby had started a chapter with WTF for the western end of N.S.- He had been an active member on a certain forum board for years, when the turkey was turned down once again he mentioned boycoting buying xmas turkey. He was banned from further postings and to make matters worse, a fellow WTFederation chapter leader really made this buddy look like an idiot on this forum I won't mention.
I thought everyone had the freedom to express his or her opinion ?
It wouldn't matter anyways,we will never see a " wild turkey hunt " because nobody will stand up and do a little protesting ! Maybe some of those wild turks from "Maine" will find their way to N.S. anyways, What I don't understand is over in Queens county there have been wild turks for years ? I haven't heard of them spreading any disease ? Maybe the Tree Huggers are eating other bad meat which has infected their thinking!

Happy Hunting

I forgot to mention also- The White Tail Deer wasn't a native to N.S. either

then when the moose population took a nose dive in Western N.S. they blamed it on the white tails transmitting a "BRAIN DESEASE" to the moose
thus killing them off ! This is complete nonsence ! Why is it the moose herds in CapeBritan were starving to death a few years back, there is loads of white tails living in these areas with the moose. umm wonder why they didn't get the dreaded brain disease which the western part of province surposed to have had?? I can tell you what happened to Moose in Western N.S. -
We had thousands of moose here until they put the string of large dams in these areas, This caused flooding of all moose habitat which provided the ground hemlock and other foods moose surived on. Thats where the moose got their "Starvation Disease" not from white tails, like the goverment of Nova Scotia of the day ,had told the people ! Kind of sounds like the story of
"Harald Snear and The Raccoons" wondering where all the trees they lived in were disappearing to. If you believe what we are being told is true, there is something wrong! you don't have to hold a PHD degree to understand whats going on,you have to be a true hunter like we all appear to be.
Have fun, don't forget to stop by or write your MLA and express your wishes, don't forget you are "Paying His Big Wages" to work for you ! Make them work for their future!
