Not hunting but...

...went camping in some OK elk country just the boy and I.  Spent some time on the ATV looking around.  Talked to some hunters who had not even heard an elk yet.  But I did run across a Govenors Tag holder for Moose....he won it in a raffle...Lucky guy...hope he gets what his dreams are.  Here's a few pics!

Kids

That sounds like a great time with the boy. I made sure to spend as much time as I could with the kids in the field when they were young. Even now with all my kids in their twenties we still have at least one 4 day family weekend camping trip every year. Of course the family has grown with son and daughter-in-laws and grand kids which makes it even better.

Nice photos goose!  Love the photo of him squatting next to the fire.

Nothing says camping like the smell of wood smoke on your clothes, tha snpping and crackling of the woods, etc.  Gotta love it!

Looks like you had a great time!

Great camping pictures. I was

Great camping pictures. I was only able to get out one time this year for three nights. Not nearly enough or even close to our average. Just too many things going on this year. I'm already trying to make better plans for next year and trying to get all the family to plan ahead as well so we can really enjoy it.

My kids are grown now but it's great watching them as they see and learn all the new things out there.

I only went camping with my

I only went camping with my Dad once.

It's a memory I will keep and hold dear forever. I'm sure your son will do the same, no matter how many camping trips you have. The more the merrier though.

The fire he is sitting by was

The fire he is sitting by was "his fire" he chopped the wood for it he built it and he lit it.  He was pretty pround of himself.  Only thing is noe he really like to strike matches....good thing we do not keep too many in the house.  yeah we did not get to camp alot this year, but he loves being up there...especially when it just "me and you Dad"...his quote.  he sat on the back opf the atv and kept telling me he was looking for moose, elk and geese.  He's got good priorities....the only pictures i did not get was him shooting his bow.....I was having too much watching him and foergot to take some pics.

That is great stuff so enjoy

That is great stuff so enjoy it while you can and try to remember the camera. They grow up way to fast. Mine are all grown up but we still get out evey chance we can. What is cool about being a grandparent is the chance to do it all again.
