Well, I don't think they will get rid of hunting entirely, as it is their major funding source. Heck, you can hunt trophy Tule elk there, an hour from downtown L.A., for $20,000. The elk are not fenced in, all are wild, but the ranch is so huge, and other than a little snow in the winter, there is no reason for them to leave, so they stay all year.
My only concern, as I said, is that they will bring back hunting with guides only. I was told the management hunts are a big part of controlling the herd, so they think they'll continue, but nobody knows for sure. We'll have to wait for the outcome of the investigation.
