Northern Kentucky Wife's First Deer

Her first shot at a deer EVER! We've been together over 10 years and I just got her to start hunting with me last year. About 5 years ago we bought an 8 acre plot of ground and built our home. I was bound and determined that I was going to make that small peice of land my hunting haven and I've put ALOT of work into it. Hard to belive with just that small amount of land but the past couple of years I have really seen a rise in the amount of bucks. I killed a nice 9 last year and she nailed this helluva nice 10 yesterday morning!
I don't think I've ever been so proud (yes...even though she out did me eye roll ) She put a perfect shot with a 30-30 at about 70 yards. This big fella only went about 30 yards and dropped.
It field dressed at 184 pounds but I haven't green scored it yet. 19" spread. I would imagine maybe this could be a 140-150 class buck? (I just wish that right side G4 was a little longer)
Either way..that's gonna be a damn nice addition to our wall.

Congratulations!

A real man is proud when out done by his wife.

Like you, it doesn't bother me either.

Having a wife that hunts is a wonderful thing. I love it!

Yeah, she's still flying high about it and so am I. The taxidermist should be picking it up today. Don't know if she's going to be able to handle the couple of months she's going to have to wait until she gets it back!! Brick Wall,)

Yeah...8 acres. There isn't much out our way except for farms and woods and farms. That's why we moved out there. Peace and quiet and away from the city!! I hope it stays that way at least until the day that I die but the way things are booming around us here....it won't be quiet too much longer.
The woods are pretty thick and I've cleaned them up a bit and put a small food plot right on the other side of the creek. We do have some woods all around us but it is still fairly residential. The first couple of years I hunted out there, before we built, I didn't see much of anything. 1 or 2 small scrubs and a few does. I told my wife though...."just wait.....you'll see some improvement after I'm done. It's not much land but we'll have some good deer on here eventually". I'm still not done with what I have planned though. I also know that it won't be every year that we'll see good bucks but at least we're seeing them now!!!

Really nice buck! Congradulations to the wife. The only time it sucks when you have a wife that hunts is when you are at work, and she is out bow hunting during the rut, like mine is today Think
