no muzzleloader shooting in State for now!

Just Found out that here IN New Mexico the they are asking all Muzzleloader shooters not to shoot there muzzleloader tell we get More rain.  They are saying it is too dry and are worried about fires.  This goes for public land and shooting ranges.  Call your local ranges or public land before going out to shoot.

That would be really rough if

That would be really rough if you where new to the game or trying to get some new equipment checked out. Is this just a suggestion or an outright ban due to the nature of the weapon? I have never had a problem using conical bullets or more modern stuff but have seena few smoldering patches fall to the ground when using the old patch and ball loads. I can see where that coulod be a big problem. Your not even allowed to smoke except in you car up here when the fire bans go into effect as the danger gets so extreme. A couple of years ago we had a fire started from the sparks off off a power tool.

I may have missed it somewhere but have you gotten to go home yet? I can't imagine the stress of being forced to leave your home because of something like these fires.

Good luck man I hope it all works out.

Yeah we got to come home

Yeah we got to come home sunday morning, but i can still see the fire from my house. And the smoke is pretty bad.  they said to stay away if you had any health issues.  The fire is now 121000 plus acres and is about 25% under control.  Alot of what is burning now is Oakbrush and grass around town.  North of town it has got back in to unburned trees and undergrowth.  this is the 2nd fire here in 11 years.  luckly no house burned in Los Alamos, but they did burn up by where it started.  they say about 30-40 homes and not to sure about other biludings.

they have ask all Muzzleloader shooters to hold off for a few weeks tell the rains start.  but then they will be watching for flash floods then.

thanks for all your thoughts out there.
