No go for archery this year

I had mentioned awhile back that I was planning to get back into archery after a 20 year absence using a bow that a friend had traded me.

Well as it turns out we went shooting a few days ago and an old arm injury that never bothers me came back really quick to the point I was almost unable to use it the last few days. I dislocated my elbow 6 years ago or so and I guess it was never really quite straight and after trying to shoot awhile it began to lock up and became severely swollen. It seems to be getting better now but I just don't want to push it again.

I will probably get it looked at after next years seasons as I have too much to do all summer and this fall to screw it up now but I still want to shoot a bow again and it will most likely be a bigger problem as I get older anyway.

I was really planning to try an otc archery tag this year but it will have to wait a little longer.

bummer

Thanks for the update.  I sympathize.  I started working out again a month or two ago.  I pretty much stopped after bustiong up some ribs in a car wreck a few years ago and a shoulder wrestling.  Push ups hurt A LOT, but I did 10 the first day and 11 the next 12 the next etc.  I'm up to 50, the last few still hurt but the first 40 or so don't hurt now.

Just the opposite with sit ups.  They hurt.  I did 10.  They hurt more.  I did 15 the next day.,  Hurt worse.  Then 20.  Hurt worse.  Never got better and my back began hurting all day.  I quit doing sit ups.  Probably forever....

That sucks for sure, BUT.........

Wade if you truely want to be out chasing those amazing elk during that time of year you can always get a doctors note and use a crossbow for your hunt. Yes Just a thought !!!

There is truely nothing better that chasing elk that time of year ! Thumbs up

Actually it was antelope I

Actually it was antelope I meant to type in there but elk were definately in the plans for the future. If all goes well I will draw the area 10 rifle tag this year and then I will get back to a normal elk plan after that.

Thanks for the tip though and I might look into it if this thing keeps acting up.
