This has been going on for the last 6 months. If you play the internet game you can find a supplier that will have what you want. You may have to wait a couple of weeks before they get a new supply in but if you really need it you can find it. So if you need some ammo for the coming hunting seasons I would suggest that you start to look to find some if not the good old supply and demand should loosen up in the 6 months to a year. This same thing happened back in 93 when the Clinton era began

Same thing here in Colorado.

I was surprised that Black Bird in Medford would be sold out. I've seen Speer bullets on the shelves there that had the boxes still marked with Leupold on the back, from years ago when Speer was part of Leupold. Now that's old stuff.

Maybe the pres. isn't going after your guns. He's going after your ammo. The guns are just clubs without the ammo. Think

The ammo is out there but it takes time to get it back to where it will sit on the shelf for more than a day. I needed some powder a month ago and watched every supplier that would tell you if it was in stock or not. The first time that I saw it back in stock I ordered it but it was too late. A week later I hit it just right. Loaded rounds are the same. I got a email flier that said what they had in stock as far as loaded rounds. Just to check it out I looked and over half of it was already sold out, and this was over just 12 hours.

Welcome to BGH!

I was in Joes in Salem last week, Sportsmans in Salem and Sportsmans in Bend today. Same thing here; no bullets, primers or powder. Should have hit Joes in Bend, didn't think of it. Spent to much last week in Salem!

Hello from Germany!

Is there really such a big run at ammo, powder and bullets because of the new president? Couldn't believe it. Here we can get what we want. Takes about 3-4 weeks or is there at once.

Kind of panic because of Mr. Obama?

Regards

Kirrmeister

It is now very difficult or at least very inconvenient to get ammo or reload components anywhere here now. Shelves are empty. The demand is just too high right now, yet the supply is the same as it has always been, just deminished due to demand. We're used to walking into any sporting goods store or specialty gun shop and buying what we want, for the most part. No wait, no special order. It used to be up until recently it was quite convenient to aqcuire what we wanted in ammo and reload components. Obama and Biden, who are two of the most anti-gun politicians that we have, being elected to office has had the unintened consequence of those two becoming the best gun and ammunition sellers in history.

I believe Joes if you mean:

http://www.joessports.com

is in bankruptcy court so is Sportsmans. So I wouldn't expect them to have much.

Actually the Sportsman's up in your neck of the woods might actually be owned by a Canadian firm (UFA) now, so maybe they are getting stock.

Sportsmans Warehouse used to be the depot for everything and they were always well stocked, not just for shooting related stuff, but camping and fishing as well. They closed one Denver store in Aurora. Another one of the stores located on my way home tends to always be out of everything. lately. If a store want to sell they got to have stuff to sell. It really too bad about Sportsmans Warehouse.

I was glad when Sportsmans opened up a store in Medford Oregon. Because I'd witnessed some pretty sad customer service at BlackBird over the last few years and was hoping that the newer Sportsmans store would scare them a bit, get them to be more customer friendly again in hopes of competeing with the new kid in town. Maybe that will happen, but maybe not.

Same here in Kalifornia. Empty shelves. You can usually find some .22 or shotgun. That's about it. Slim pickens. Fortunately for me I still have about 2 thousand primers and stuff or I'd be canceling my matches. Practice is suffering though. Cry
