Hello everyone. I need your help please. Does anyone have experience in unit 24? It will be my boys (11 yrs) and I first time in NM for mule deer. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Tips or good area's for a successful hunt? Thank you!

"If you like the area throughout the Mimbres Valley, you can try the Royal John Mine Rd off of St. Rd 61. Its private for a few miles but right after you enter the forest there are some good meadows. Further north on HWY 35 you can try Mcknight Canyon Rd and Powderhorn and all of the forest roads around Lake Roberts. Also try Little Walnut Picnic area further west through Silver City. The deer are used to people and there are a lot of them. Its close to town also."
Every year many hunters and outdoorsman and women come out west from the midwest and east coast to hunt the prized mulies and elk. One topic that comes up often is altitude sickness.
