I know this is and old post but I just got back from 16E
I just finished a muzzleloader hunt on the 18th of Oct in 16E. I shot a small 6x6 but pretty nice. I went unguided and it was the second time I drew out on that hunt the first time my buddy shot a 5X5. Its a heavy hunted area by outfitters and there are some monster bulls. We saw a large 7X7 and 6x6 opening morning but couldn't get close. The pelona mountains are in the middle of 16E and they are really rough so if your not in shape I recommend some conditioning prior to arriving or going guided on horse back. If you have other questions please let me know. Good luck, Joe
Accuracy. What an incredible way to give yourself a true advantage.
Go to your club and get a bunch of guys together - and put a target out there at 250 meters. Break out the deer rifles and see who can shoot a decent group, even off of the bench, at this distance. I think you will be shocked at how few can do it.
So - with that in mind, I recently set out to try to develop a semi-custom rifle that I could afford and that would shoot - repeatedly - at MOA.
I started with a platform that I love...
