It depends on what you draw. Rifle draw hunt in NM are kind of funny. it is kind of like a draw with in the draw. if you draw the public land in that unit that is waht you draw if you draw and are assigned to a rach then you hunt the ranch. If you draw a ranch you will be assigned to a part of the ranch most likley. and the landowner normally gives preference to hunters that bought tags from him. once they are done you might have a chance on moving to other parts of the ranch.
Here is the scenario... you sit in your 2 piece climbing stand and your foot inadvertently bumps the lower section while there is no weight on it - and it slides down the tree, out of reach!
OK, you are safe - you have a string tied from the upper section that you are sitting on and the foot portion that slid 4-5 feet down the tree. All you have to do it pull the other section up, reposition it and you are back in business, correct?
