Nice 6 pointer

I got this one in early December during Illinois' second firearm season. I was set up in a creek bottom down from a hay field when a big doe came busting out of a thicket on the other side of the creek. She jumped the creek and then turned around and looked back. That was my signal to get ready because I figured there was a buck after her. Sure enough.

Thanks. I was surprised to find he only had six points. I thought he was at least 8 when I shot. When I first saw he had a nice rack, I tried not to look at his antlers again while planning my shot.

He's an old deer, I had him made into summer sausage, mostly. The head and cape are at the taxidermist.
