Hello guys/girls,

I am new to the forum, so I think it is appropriate to present myself.

I have always wanted to hunt, but time and money were always in the way...
This year everything lined up perfectly and I decided to get my hunting license, buy my first hunting rifle and go hunting (mainly hogs)

Well, I have all of the above, but I have a little problem: NONE of my friends are hunters and I have no clue where to go hunt in GA.

I know that there are a lot of places but would like to get some recommendations from the people that had good luck with hog hunting in GA.

Tips of hog hunting are also very appreciated!

Thank you!

welcome to BGH ratimux;

Don't know alot about Ga hogs but I am sure there will be someone along shortly to answer your questions.

Check here also. http://www.biggamehunt.net/sections/Georgia/

Basically I would suggest that you contact the Georgia DNR and procure some pamphlets of some nearby WMA's or State Forrest land and look for creeks and Rivers. Hogs won't be far from those 2 areas.
A nice swamp with farmlands nearby will also likely produce some hogs.

Might also stop in any feed and seed store and local sporting goods store and ask questions.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting started in hunting as well! I'm new to hog hunting, having been hunting hogs only the last three seasons. We've taken trips for three years and 2 of the trips were to places in Ga. We had sucessful hunts on both Ga. hunts and there are a good number of hogs in some areas there. If you can find some private land and gain permission, that might be the best way. Baiting for hogs has become very popular. Nothing fancy needed. Simply making some soured corn and burying it can be very effective.

Because we were coming from out of state, we chose to book hunts at a place with lots of private land and lots of hogs. We were very sucessful and it was a very enjoyable experience. Free ranging hogs on private land, with limited pressure. I'd be happy to send you some info on the places we tried, if you like. Simply PM me and I'll pass on the info.

Good Luck!
