New Year's resolutions / goals?

Now that hunting season is over with for me, I have begun to plan for next year.

It is nearing that time of year for New Year's resoltions and setting goals too.

For me a big one will be to hunt with my son on his first deer hunt and try to help him bag a deer.

What would you like to accomplish next year?

For me it is both for hunting

For me it is both for hunting and my health I want to get in shape.  Not so much about losing a bunch a weight as much as it is being able to walk for miles and miles without getting real winded.  I already walk for miles and miles whle hunting just want to do it more confrontable.  In turn I will lose a little weight and tone up.

good plan

I was thinking about just that too. hunting seemed physically harder for me this year.  i must eb getting old!

So I'll try to eat a little less and walk a little more throughout the year.  Hopefully shedding a few pounds will help things get easier next year!

WOW!

How on earth did you manage all that weight loss?

That is something that we all should all try to work on.

I'd be happy to hear any tips that you are willing to share!

Mine is to run a half

Mine is to run a half marathon and do a sprint triathlon.....these are the carrots that will keep me motivated to get in better shape.

good one

Thats a good one too CVC - my wife and I did a couple of 5ks last year.  It surely is a motivator to get out there and do some exercise when you know that you have a race coming up.

Yeah, I need a goal to stay

Yeah, I need a goal to stay motivated to exercise.  Health alone is not enough to get me off the couch.  Knowing that I have a race coming up does the trick.

I did one half marathon last year and it kicked my butt so I passed on the triathlon I was going to do, but I will do it this year.

Resolutions

A few years back I resolved to be honest with myself and stop making resolutions I won't keep for more than a month or so.  It's the only resolution I've kept, and it's been working great, year after year.

Well that's as good a way to resurrect this thread as any. Hey in case anybody would like an update - I was blessed to be sitting beside my son when he took his first deer subsequent to my original post (above). Pic attached.
