Welcome to the site. Where are you from in Michigan? Like to help you out up there but I'm not there.

Welcome to the state toddfox. I moved out here from Kansas 11 years ago. Haven't been back since. I'm now on the Republican side of the state so I can't help you either. Big smile But welcome anyway!

Thanks for the responses!! I am from Detroit originally and most recently Marquette on the shores of Lake Superior.

You fine gents from E. WA: I met a couple of guys, today that said for muleys I need to go to NE Washington. Any feedback? Good public land to hunt on? Maybe a farmer/orchard owner that will allow a hunter to harvest a deer from his property?
October is coming soon and I have the "itch" real bad!! Thumbs up

Not asking for a hand-out guys, just a little advice!! I appreciate it very much!

Toddfox, the absolute NE corner has Muleys and Whitetailed deer. You will find tons of state and federal land in and around Eastern Washington to hunt. No permission needed. We hunt for Muleys in GMU's 251, 247, 245, 242 and 239, but that is just me and my group. Just load up your rig and go drive a few of these , if you are unsure where to hunt... Other guys here can point you to a general area in the NE, but will probably not give up their favorite drainages...sorry dude! Really you should have no problem finding an area to hunt. One trip, open roads, look for sign, look for ugly areas where others may not wish to go down into, or up over.. you will find a muley... Bring optics. Optics are big for muley hunting...Bring water. Get your regs, find the GMU map, get a Delorme Gazetter map, buy some gas, and go!

Check with some of the Game Dept. reginal offices that you think you would like to hunt . They might have maps of the areas , I know our office has what they call Green Dot maps that have the roads that you can drive on and are good area maps . NO Off Roading on Washington Game Dept. Ground . There are a lot of areas that are free to hunt .

You are located 30 minutes to an hour and a half from Blacktail, Roosevelt Elk, Bobcat, Cougar, Blackbear, Turkey, Grouse, Racoon, Coyote, ...... hunting.
Look into the units around Eatonville, Packwood and Morton. Most will be lumber baron properties but it's loaded with game.
