New to site

Hi all,

I am new to this site, so I wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Ben.  I live in Minnesota and hunt primarily in southeastern MN.  I started hunting 'out west' a few years ago after finishing up with school.

My first trip out west was OTC archery elk in Colorado once.  I passed up a cow on my first day hunting and didn't get another chance after that!  My second trip was going with my Uncle for a limited entry archery elk hunt in Colorado.  Again we came up empty.

This past fall I went hunting in Wyoming for antelope with my dad for the first time and had a blast.  We saw hundreds of animals and got our buck on our first day there!

I look forward to hearing all of your hunting stories and sharing mine with you!

Welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site Ben!  There are a lot of great hunters on the site... and they share a great deal of valuable hunting information... and a lot of opinions as well.  I hunt for the meat so my opinion - never pass on a legal animal as you may not see another during the season.  Good luck on your hunts and we look forward to your pics and stories too!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Thanks for the welcome guys!  I probably would've taken the cow later in the trip, but since this was my first trip to Colorado (or anywhere 'out west') and I had two weeks planned, I wanted to give myself some extra time there.  Even without getting an elk, it was an amazing experience and a good trip for learning.  I can't wait to get out there again!
