New pope and young record!

Rumour has it, that Cody Robbins from the Live 2 hunt TV show arrowed a 294 gross (287 net) velvet non-typical mule deer. From what I understand, there will be no pictures posted until it gets published (i'm thinking in Big Buck mag) and it was all on video to boot!

That's a big deer!

That got me to thinking - probably a no-brainer for many - but do they measure a deer in velvet differently than one that's hard-horned? Are they in different categories as far as records go?

Thanks

Did you hear where he was

Did you hear where he was shot at?  The one in Arizona on the Governors Tag was 283 green scored and from what I have heard there have been a couple in the 240's or 250's taken in Utah this year.

Sounds like a monster. I cant wait to see the pics and video. Sounds like there has been some very nice deer taken already this year. Doesnt really suprise me with how wet it was this spring. The deer and elk have had some great forage this year to get those antlers nice and big.

It will bet great to see the picturesd and the video.  that is truly a moster and a buck of 10 lifetimes.  On another note I love the video clip, alot of great bucks there....some of them looked like it was a struggle to run with some of those bigs racks they had.

That video was pretty cool. I usually don't get into muley's that much since I have never hunted them but those are some huge muleys for sure. I can't wait to see the pictures of this record breaker. They should be awesome.
