New to NV

I'm new to NV and would like to start Elk and Muley hunting next fall. I just finished my last year in UT, and will miss it. I have been told that there are plenty of areas in the north part of the state and am going to start a series of camping trips to get to know the area more.
I am concerned with the draws here in NV though. Do they have a yearly spike bull hunt or is everything "any bull" hunts? I've read through the 04 proclimation and can't find any information on a spike hunt, but it does mention it in the draw categories for elk. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
By the way, I'm in Las Vegas, so I know there won't be much out my back door like I'm used to.

stoney-
there is not a spike only hunt. they include spike in the 'any antlered' hunt during any legal weapon hunts. good luck!

So basically I get to hunt Elk every 10 years in NV... It might be 10 years until I actually draw a hunt from what I've read. A little discouraging.

Thanks for the info.

Like most of us who live in Nevada, we mainly hunt other states. I've been trying for an bull elk hunt here for the past 8 years and no luck. Deer hunting isn't as bad but it takes a few years to draw a tag. Once you draw the tag you'll see allot of game. You can get a cow tag every few years. My co-worker has gotten 2 in the last 3 years. Best of luck in next years draw.
