I am really familiar with that unit. I have guided in that unit for a few years now. That is one of the best hunts in that unit for killing big bulls. If you need some one to outfitt your hunt please give me a call at (575)770-8629 or email me at :info@sierravistavideos.com. I am a licensed Outfitter in the state of New Mexico. Please fill free to request a free dvd of a muzzleloader hunt that I guided in unit 15.

Thanks You,

I've seen -15F during that hunt, I have also seen weather warm enough to have thunderstorms. My favorite was a few years ago. When we arrived there we set up camp in t-shirts. When we stayed one last night we woke up to snow deep enough to make finding the quads difficult.

I guess you need to be prepared for anything. Make sure you have chains. Sometime it snows there and the roads don't freeze. Then you have thick mud under snow. Nice for a leasurely drive!
