I heard they expanded the quotas and therefore extended the season on bear last year, but I am fairly sure the season it did not run into spring. The antis eliminated the spring bear season a while back. The only spring bear hunt I am aware of is in Valle Vidal and it is a draw hunt with 20 permits issued.
I would love to see a spring bear season in NM, but I doubt it will ever happen.

All of us, at one time or another have gone on a hunting trip and had what we call “Blue Bird” weather. Warm evenings and almost hot days. We hunt in our t-shirts and enjoy the sunshine. We are way up in the mountains and have a whole week to hunt. How could it get any better?
