They removed the harvest reports after people figured out that method, this new method may work but I have my doubts.
I went 1-6 (elk) which I would not be unhappy with. My 3rd choice for deer was unit 38, if I am not mistaken there were leftover licenses in 38 last year or the year before Now there may not be leftovers this year, but either I was really unlucky for deer or this method not accurate.
everytime someone figures out a backdoor way to check their results G&F takes them down. Now if you requested a refund on the general hunting license you can check by going to print you CID card. If you were drawn for something your general hunting license number will appear.
Over the years I have seen several elk and deer hides left in the woods by hunters and I have to wonder why they do this? I fully understand and agree about getting the hide off the animal as soon as possible to cool the meat, but why not pack out the hide with you and use it? As far as I know there are no state laws that require you to take the hide home, but to me why waste such a beautiful part of the animal? Some might think they have no use for the hide or it costs too much to tan....
