F.N.G. here from Tennessee. Retired military and trying to make up for that lost hunting time ...lol. Really enjoy deer hunting and also, the last few years, hog hunting as well. Also enjoy gun collecting, mostly big game rifles. Looks like an interesting place. Thanks. Wave [/b]

Thanks for the welcome. I am located north of Nashville, near the Kentucky border. I hunt both states and have deer hunted both in the same day, actually. Lost a very good spot last year, and on the lookout for some more. Any help in finding some decent public lands would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hummmm...sounds like you are in Clarksville? mabe Springfield?
I lived in Clarksville for about a year or so in the early 80's when I was working at Ft. Campbell.
I got to hunt 2 seasons there and it was great but methods were nothing like I was used too here in Florida.
I was fortunate to meet a bunch of local fellas, one in particular, whose family had alot of land in nearby Robertson County, which we hunted Deer and Hogs. I never really hunted any public land except Squirrel hunting once on some State land near the river but I don't remember the name of it. Saw lots of sign for both Deer and Hogs but never hunted there for them. I want to say that it was to the southwest of Clarksville but I am not really sure which side of the River it was on.
I never hunted Kentucky while I was there.

Welcome to BGH! Big smile

Love that area of TN & KY, very scenic! I have family in Bowling Green, so I fly into Nashville, then drive up into KY. Always enjoy that drive!

I am in the Clarksville area, brought here at the tail end of my military career. The area has some great hunting potential, but like many other areas, private land/leases are becoming tougher and tougher to find. I gave up a dandy spot last year because new hunters allowed there were not, how shall I say... the safest fellas to be around. Nuff said. Thanks for the welcome.

Well, your area of the country ain't half bad either! I have been to Idaho and Alberta on a couple hunts and must say that I loved the mountains and also every minute spent on horseback on those hunts. Very impresive country that everyone should see at some time in their lives. Thanks for the welcome.
BTW, Isn't that airport in Nashville just about as nice as they get ??
